Partnership With Parents

At Kiddy Care Nursery we recognise and support parents as their child’s first and most important educators and welcome them into the life of the nursery.

Our aim is to develop an honest, open and supportive relationship with you which compliment life in your home. We want you to feel secure when you leave your child and be confident in knowing that your child’s needs will be met. We will help to build your knowledge around learning and development so that you may continue helping towards your child's achievements and their next steps. A daily diary is completed at the end of each day so you are able to see what they have been up to and what they have eaten.

We have recently invested in an online app called Blossom which allows you to keep up to date with everything happening at the nursery.

Settling In

Here at Kiddy Care Nursery, we aim to ensure that your child gets the best possible opportunity to settle in with ease and comfort. Our aim is to also ensure that the parents are well supported during this process as we understand that it is hard to let go of your most precious possession. The staff here try their best to tailor to individual needs of the children. We offer 1 week settling, however depending on an individual child this time period may vary.

First session

 (45 minutes)

On this day you come in and accompany your child. We will use this opportunity to familiarise your child to the environment. We will also complete their ‘all about me’’ and set you up on ‘Blossom’, which is a digital app we use to stay connected to you. We want to know all about your child and their routine, so this is a great time to get bonding!

Second and third session

(1 hour)

We advise the parents to stay for a while but then be prepared to leave their child for some time. During this period the staff will help your child get used to their new surroundings, allow them to explore the nursery and help build their confidence to get ready for a full session.

Fourth and fifth session

(1.30 – 2 hours)

We aim to understand your child’s routine, likes, preferences, dislikes and how they comfort best. During this time, you will be introduced to your child’s key person and will be your main point of contact. You will have access to them through Blossom at any time during the day, however, please bear in mind that our priority is to the children and therefore you may not get an instant response.

Daily Essentials

We request that you bring in a bag with a full set of change of clothes including shoes for your child, especially if they are potty training. We would also advice to not bring them in your best piece of clothing as they get messy in the day depending on how explorative they are. The nursery will not accept any liability of anything which goes missing or damages of any valuable items. Ensure that you are thoughtful of the weather and so during the summer bring in a summer hat and sun cream etc.

You will also need to bring in a water bottle with their names on it so that they have access to their own water. Please DO NOT bring juices in the bottles as they will be emptied out and replaced with water.

Extra Support

In order to support the children’s needs we have various intervention groups such as phonics, box clever and what’s in the box. We further get support from local children’s centre, if there are further concerns. Such as potty training, oral health etc.

LOCAL CHILDREN'S CENTRE

Buggies & Scooters

We have a small shed at the front which is used for parents to put their buggies and scooters for their children. Please be mindful and close your buggies and place them correctly so that there is space available for others. Also, we request that you take the buggies out yourselves as staff cannot leave the rooms to assist with such request on a regular basis.
